28th August. August Bank Holiday

Hello, everyone ! Had our Quality in Tourism, visit England annual Inspection on Friday, last. (26th) Came through again with lots of excellent comments by the Inspector. GREAT… 5* for another year.!!!( Every year since we opened.)
What is the weather like with you?. It’s mixed here. When it rains it is VERY heavy in short spurts, then beautiful sun . As now !!! A little windy, but still beautiful. We have had Bakewell and Ashover Show, Buxton Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, with lots of people staying here. The September Chatsworth Show is happening next week-end for 3 days. That is SUCH a good show, with lots of attractions, country crafts, displays and stalls..
Talking about the weather… it has been superb here for the last 4 weeks. Guests have found the surrounding attractions excellent value. The Chestnut Centre, with it’s otters and owls, and the Donkey Sanctuary, ( frequented by Dot Cotton of Eastenders fame), ‘Go-Ape’ in Buxton, has proved to be a good day. Crich Museum is adding yet more attractions, and if you like ‘ panning ‘ for stones, then the Stone Heritage Centre, near Wirksworth is for you.
The surrounding fields are all washed , clean and green. The gardens are looking good with the lavender really doing well, and the perfume from the borders is something else. ( Thanks Lisa who stayed recently, for your photograph, now on the website. )
I think I have found a good gardener with Henry and Peter, and Ben, my right-hand man, who has painted and put up signs..What would I do without them. And Karen and her cleaning team.. terrific people, all of them.
I am sitting here, in the Serenity Coffee shop, watching the world go by and sipping my coffee…. mmmm… bliss !!
I have been told that there is a facility to put video testimonials onto my site. Well, not sure how to do that. Only just learnt how to take vieo on my Blackberry. Thank you for that Claire. Now what to do with it…I’ll have to talk with Paul, ( iPageDesigner ) and ask him to show me how to do this . Still trying to get to grips with how to put more images onto my site. Ah, well, life is a learning curve isn’t it.
Right ,I’ve got some walkers and cyclists arriving for coffee ! Must go !! See you soon. Don’t forget to book the Secret for the Chatsworth Show, the Wirksworth Festival and the Matlock Illuminations. Take care ! Christine.
